Summary of Position:
To represent Inn at Laurel Point in all guest interactions as “A refined coastal experience in a waterfront city setting, guided by sincere, friendly service, to create remarkable memories.” The Steward is the key individual that ensures that all kitchen equipment and dishware is cleaned properly, that FoodSafe practices are upheld and assists with any additional prep work that is needed.
Responsibilities:
- Actively promote a safe and hazard free work environment
- Proper maintenance and safe use of equipment to ensure good working conditions and maximum efficiency
- Washing and sorting of dishware and kitchen equipment
- General cleaning of the kitchen area
- Minor prep work
Qualifications:
- Must have valid Food Safe Certification
- Demonstrated eye for detail and ability to organize tasks effectively
- Read and understand English
- Previous experience an asset
- Must be able to embrace the 4 core values of the Laurel Point Inn: Excellence, Respect, Curiosity and Stewardship
Job Requirements:
- Flexible availability for shift work including early mornings and late evenings
- Must be fully available to work weekdays, weekends and statutory holidays
- Must be able to do heavy lifting up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Ability to work a full shift standing
- Must be legally permitted to work in Canada
